The extent of the damage on the escape is pretty bad. I could pull some of the trim off without releasing the fasteners. Hell, it's the only way I could pull them off, the metal is that rotten. rocker panel trim can't be removed just yet, so sit tight, and lets soon unveil the rot once it comes off.

this is actually really common. Just goes to show that plastic trim doesn't stop rust, he'll it might even make it worse.

It's common for a car to rust out within 10 years over here. Mazda 3's are the usual culprits.

Hah, our city is terrible about plowing and using road salt. (Northern idaho by the way so snow is expected every year.)
